CASA 2021 Year In Review

As we wind down 2021, I would like to do an update on the highlights and goals for 2022.

*We had two new additions to CASA: Linda Smith – treasurer and Allie Bergtold-baseball/softball

*We played all our sports this year!!!! It was great to have these opportunities again for the

families at an affordable cost.

*Baseball/softball each had two well attended clinics. Future clinics will be offered again in the
summer of 2022. Thank you to Jason Burton, his coaches and travel baseball players for
baseball and some high school softball players for the girls. Miss Jody VanPelt, college softball
player, travel coach and high school coach has contacted me regarding helping the softball
program summer 2022. Our 5th – 8th graders are able to play against other school and get the
feel of competition in the Osceola League. Great exposure for them at a small fee. (We were
committed to another season of CASA Advanced and had a director all ready in place if we had
the participation)

*Fall soccer had the privilege of having travel soccer coaches volunteer to coach. We offered a
tournament 1st -8th grade teams and were extended an invitation to include our participants in
clinics put on by CSA and the high school team (Coach King and players). A packet was given
to all coaches by Luke Rumhor with grade level drills.

*Basketball took place in the new gym built at MTMS. This allows a facility where backboards
can be raised and lowered according to grade. Bryce Bengelink and Makayla Knight, two former
hs players, did an excellent job of instructing the kids.

*Volleyball has always been a bonus to the kids with the help of Jane Agren (former hs coach)
and current hs players. We have changed the dates to later in Feb and March for 2022.

CASA property was assessed by the same company CAPS used, to see what the immediate
updates were needed for the complex. I will be meeting with Fred Bryant to go over the results.

Nancy Bellaire had suggested and purchased soccer bags for coaches to use four years ago.
We will once again be replenishing these bags for coaches. We are purchasing new larger
helmets. We have purchased new soccer goals with CSA. We purchased new benches for the
dugouts. Late forms will have a $10 fee attached to them. This will help us get teams made
early. Our Facebook will have a section for suggestions for improvement.

After 26 will be donating 10% of their profits to CASA February 13th – 19th. Thank you!

A HUGE THANK YOU to ALL of our sponsors and volunteer coaches!!!! You are appreciated.
Here’s to another amazing year of recreational youth sports! See you in 2022 in one of our
sports!

CASA – Our Mission Statement / Purpose

Welcome to the offiCial CASA Sports website. We have recently partnered with Cadillac News Design & Development to produce this new website. We are very proud of the new design and hope that It will better information you about our organization.

We are dedicated to providing a fun, safe, educational environment for your children.

As a former member of CASA. I wish to commend you for volunteering your time and efforts towards area youth. Without your support, the CASA program would not exist.

A vital part of the program includes the safety of all children involved. This is a major concern for CASA. local police and the community in general. One way we can ensure this safety is by conducting a background check on all members of CASA This is done through the auspices of the Community Child Watch program This program is state sanctioned and supported locally by the Cadillac Area Schools, law enforcement and CASA In fact, CASA has adopted this program as a condition of becoming a volunteer.
